A Message from the Program Chair

Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to accept the role of program chair of the 24th World Congress on Medical Law and Bioethics.

The World Association for Medical Law encompasses academics and practicing professionals in the Medico-Legal specialties. Since 1967, it has convened international gatherings allowing the professional and academic community to meet and exchange ideas.

We recognize that Medical Law, Bioethics and Legal Medicine have an important role in supporting human rights and justice. The WCML 2018 scientific committee is working hard to build a scientific program that will be relevant, innovative, cross-cutting and future-focused. Themes have been selected to highlight humanitarian aspects of medicine and law.

We hope to attract both younger and more established professionals from all over the world, including from developing nations, in order to learn from one another and strengthen local capacities in different countries.

As of May 1st 2018 we have already received contributions from over 30 countries around the world and we look forward for a very high level academic and professional program.

Tel Aviv, Israel, is a vibrant and lively city, full of attractions, ranked high for the quality of living and ranked extremely high for young people to live in. The Congress is held in Dan Tel Aviv Hotel, on the Tel Aviv promenade with incredible view and atmosphere.

The 2018 annual meeting will be a remarkable opportunity for continuing education, professional development, and making connections and lasting friendships.  I am looking forward to greeting each and every one of you in Tel Aviv in September 2018.

Oren Asman, LLD, Esq.

Executive Director, Initiative on Bioethics and Law

Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University.
